The Christmas Friend

We walked on the snowy path,

To the beautified church ahead…

Oh! The divine Christmas eve!

And Santa’s statue dressed white and red.

We played together, did snowball fights,

Happiness was a normal emotion.

We did not demand more and more,

but tried to prevent our friendship from corrosion!

I know you are long gone, forgotten,

but when winter seeps my mind goes through a turmoil.

Oh, I, yes, I will remember you,

’till the day I meet you on heaven’s soil.

  1. I go with what Jaqueline said. It’s a lovely, sad poem. The last line ois particularly beautiful, giving the reader hope for better times to come when we are freed from this life…
